What Makes Skinny Dips Special?
* We have been making Skinny Dip Candlestm since 2004 and we make a wide variety of scents, all bearing the Skinny Dip name. While we are flattered that our success led others to creatively use Skinny Dip as a scent name, please do not be confused. Our brand is Skinny Dip Candles and every single scent we make features our trademarked Skinny Dip Candletm brand name.
* Skinny Dip Candles were the first on the market to use pure cosmetic grade ingredients in a "lotion candle" or "massage candle." You will find many of our competitors using soy that is used for traditional candle making in their "lotion candles." While traditional soy won't hurt anyone, lotion / massage candles made with this grade of soy are not of the same high quality as ours.
* Far more than a novelty, Skinny Dip Candles are made to make a truly noticeable difference in skin elasticity and moisture. We use only cosmetic grade soy (NOT soy made for making regular candles), and we add top quality cocoa butter, shea butter, avocado butter and vitamin E for their emolient, skin nurturing properties.
* We use ONLY skin-safe fragrance oil (not all fragrances are skin-safe) and ONLY in skin-safe quantities. (There are some who tout their lotion or massage candles as "highly scented." If a lotion candle is scented enough to be called "highly scented," it contains far more fragrance oil than what will be skin-safe.)
* Skinny Dip Candles are individually hand-poured in a commercial production facility dedicated to making our products. We use production techniques that comply with all aspects of FDA guidelines.
* We are a family business. We are intimately involved in all aspects of our industry and the production of our own products. We have a passion for what we do, and we take pride in how we do it.
Ingredients and Use
Skinny Dip Candles are specially formulated to be used as a warm lotion for moisturizing cuticles and dry skin, as well as a massage oil. Skinny Dip Candles are made with a proprietary blend of high quality, cosmetic-grade soy, beeswax, sunflower oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, avocado butter, vitamin E, and skin-safe essential or fragrance oil. As an added benefit, the candle in its unmelted state is essentially a body balm. The balm can easily be massaged into dry skin areas when lighting the candle isn't feasible or practical.
Due to its unique ingredient composition, a Skinny Dip Candle burns at just over body temperature (about 102 degrees) when melted. . . the temperature of a relaxing, hot bath. Use the Skinny Dip Candle as a warm body moisturizer, or as a soothing treatment for your cuticles, hands, elbows and feet. You can also use the candle as a massage oil - perfect for couples massage, or for use by professional therapists. The Skinny Dip Candle can also be used unmelted if desired. With a solid texture similar to that of a rich body balm, it can easily be massaged into the skin.
About Our Company
The Skinny Dip Candle was created in 2004 by Scents of Decor, Inc. We initially created the product to sell in our own retail store. After much interest from other retailers, we began wholesaling Skinny Dip Candles to retailers in many parts of the U.S. As word spread about the candle, we were repeatedly contacted by people wanting to buy a candle but who didn't have a local retailer offering it. The Skinny Dip Candle website was launched to make ordering easy and efficient from anyone, anywhere, at any time of day or night.
Scents of Decor, Inc. is located in our hometown of Missoula, Montana. We are family business and we hand pour each candle and lip balm we make. Our other products are made individually by real folks too. No mass production by machines or use of so-so ingredients here! We use only high quality ingredients and we produce our products according to FDA specifications in our dedicated production facility. We are proud of our products and service.
