We know we're not saying anything new by reiterating that 2020 was a hard year. We faced a pandemic, social unrest, a historic election, and all the coinciding events and feelings that came with them.
But as we reach a new year, let's remember to hope and rebuild. If we were in a fantasy movie, this would be the part where the evil overlord (2020) is defeated. But it's only the beginning. There is still so much sadness to overcome and destruction to clean up, yet there is hope for a brighter future.
Whether you feel that this year changed you for the better or for the worse, remember that you are the hero of your own story. Set your next quest forward and set it gently. Walk (or dance or even hobble) through the murky woods at your own pace and work your way toward whoever it is you want to be. And along your way, be kind to your fellow wanderers.
